Starting the day with Praise: Putting our trust in God every morning

‘Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.’

Psalms 143:8

Psalm 143:8 is a strong reminder that the morning is a special time, a chance to start over and focus on God. It tells us to pray to God first thing in the morning to get direction, strength, and comfort. This verse tells us that if we put our trust in God, we can hear His unfailing love in the morning, which will point us in the right direction. It’s a reminder that God’s love and guidance are always there for us, especially in the morning.

Overall, this verse is a reminder that we should start our day with God by lifting our hearts to Him and asking for His guidance and strength. It tells us that the morning should be an important part of our daily walk with God and that we should trust Him and look to him every day for guidance, strength, and comfort.

Discover the Power of Faith: How Abraham’s Example Proves Salvation is by Faith Alone – Romans 4:1-5

Discover the Power of Faith: How Abraham’s Example Proves Salvation is by Faith Alone – Romans 4:1-5

‘What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, ‘

Romans 4:1-5

The World Needs Jesus Christ – Share the Story of Abraham with the Lost

  • Abraham was justified by faith, not by works (Romans 4:2).
  • Abraham was justified by faith before he was circumcised (Romans 4:9-10).
  • Abraham received the promise of righteousness through faith (Romans 4:13).
  • Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness (Romans 4:22).
  • Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness because he believed in the God who raises the dead (Romans 4:24).

The apostle Paul is using Abraham’s faith as an example to demonstrate that salvation is not based on works but on faith alone. The Holy Spirit makes it clear that Abraham was justified by faith before he was circumcised, and that this justification was credited to him as righteousness. In other words, Abraham’s faith in what God said was seen as righteous in God’s sight, and he was saved by his faith and not by his works or his circumcision.

The admonition for us is that salvation is not based on anything we do but on our faith alone in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul is using Abraham’s faith as an example to show that this principle of faith-based salvation applies to Gentile believers as well.

Begin 2023 with Power, Love and a Sound Mind

Begin 2023 with Power, Love and a Sound Mind

As we start a new year, it’s a great time to focus on the things that truly matter in life. One of those things is love, and that’s exactly what 1 Timothy 1:7 reminds us of. “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

Three encouraging points to consider as you start this new year:

  1. God has given us a spirit of power. This means that we have the strength and ability to overcome any obstacle or challenge that comes our way. We can face the new year with confidence and courage because we have the power of God within us.
  2. God has given us a spirit of love. This means that we have the ability to show love and compassion to those around us, even in the midst of difficult times. As we navigate the challenges of the new year, let’s remember to show love to those around us.
  3. God has given us a spirit of self-control. This means that we have the ability to make wise decisions and to resist temptation. As we start this new year, let’s strive to exercise self-control in all aspects of our lives.

In the past two years, the world has faced a lot of suffering and uncertainty. But even in the midst of these challenges, we can find hope and encouragement in the words of 1 Timothy 1:7. Let’s start this new year with a spirit of power, love, and self-control, knowing that God is with us every step of the way.

Happy New Year: Words of Encouragement to Begin 2023

Happy New Year: Words of Encouragement to Begin 2023

As we begin this new year, it’s a time of reflection on the past and a look forward to a new year of growth in God’s word. One thing that can always bring us encouragement and hope is the truth of God’s Word, and 2 Corinthians 5:17 is a powerful reminder of this truth: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. “The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

As believers in Jesus, we have the promise that our old selves (old Adam) are gone and we are made new through the power of the gospel. This means that no matter what mistakes or failures we may have experienced in the past, we can start this new year with a clean slate, full of the hope and potential that comes from being a new creation in Christ.

Here are a few points to consider as we look forward to the new year:

  • Trust in God’s plans (Romans 8:28): He knows what He’s doing, and even if we don’t understand everything that’s happening, we can trust that He has a good purpose in it all.
  • Lean on His strength (2 Corinthians 12:9): We don’t have to face this new year on our own. Christ’s power is made perfect in our weakness, so we can trust Him to carry us through whatever challenges come our way.
  • Remember that He is with us (Hebrews 13:5,6): Jesus promised to be with us always, and this new year is no exception. Whether we’re facing struggles or celebrations, we can take comfort in His presence with us every step of the way.

So let’s enter this new year, 2023, with confidence and hope, not with fear and uncertainty. Because God has given us a spirit of power and love, as well as a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Have a Happy and Safe New Year
