Before 40 AD There was No Revelation from God to the Gentile World – But Now…

From Abraham to John the Baptist, to Peter and the 11, and the three years of Christ’s earthly ministry up to the stoning of Stephen in the book of Acts in all that time almost 2000 years; there was NO doctrine, NO message of salvation to the Gentile world (with 9 exceptions). Until God calls out Saul, who we now know as the Apostle Paul, who God designates as the apostle to the Gentiles, with a new message of salvation apart from the Mosaic law and temple worship. This was something new, never before revealed to mankind; that salvation was accessible to ALL mankind (not just the Jews) where a person is saved by grace through faith in the death/shed blood, burial, and resurrection of Jesus apart from works.

Before the risen Lord revealed to the apostle Paul the gospel of the grace of God. (Galatians 1:11,12) The Gentile world was without hope and without God.

‘Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. ‘

Ephesians 2:11-12

For 1500 Years from Moses to Paul, Gentiles had no part in the Mosaic law or temple worship. The entire Gentile world was without hope and no access to Israel’s God. The Mosaic law was given to Moses to give to Israel, not to Gentiles.

So why does Christendom try to claim it today? If it wasn’t for Gentiles back then it’s not for us today!

The Mosaic law had no power to save only condemn

  • The law was weak and beggarly.

‘But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? ‘

Galatians 4:9

  • The law was “the ministry of death”.

‘But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, ‘

II Corinthians 3:7

  • The law was “the ministry of condemnation”.

‘For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. ‘

II Corinthians 3:9

But now…after the cross and with the new revelations given to Paul by the risen Lord we are not under the Mosaic law or temple worship but “both and Jew and Gentiles” are under God’s grace apart from the law. (Romans 3:21-22)

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference (between Jews and Gentiles) ; ‘

Romans 3:21-22

‘For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.’

Romans 6:14

But Now…since the risen Lord chose Paul to be the apostle to the Gentiles and revealed to Paul the gospel of the grace “you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:13

But now… we have been released from the law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter. (Romans 7:6)

But now…The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.’ – I Corinthians 15:56-58

What Saith the Scripture?

Most problems in interpreting Bible passages arise from neglecting a passage’s context. The guiding principle of sound interpretation is to take a passage literally. Not maintaining this discipline, interpreting Scripture becomes made up, man’s idea, fantasy, and the passage can mean almost anything. The result is erroneous and ridiculous interpretations.

Another important principle to sound Bible interpretation is to read Scripture “in-time”. In other words, we have to read and study the Bible as a progressive revelation. Not getting ahead of God’s revelation.

God’s plan of redemption for mankind wasn’t revealed all at once to Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Isaiah, or any of the other old testament prophets. Not even Peter and the eleven were given the full counsel of God. The Lord revealed to each of the aforementioned what they needed at their particular time in Biblical history. A hermeneutical method that does not approach Scripture as a progressive revelation leads to erroneous interpretations.

To be a good bible student one must maintain a literal, grammatical and historical (in-time) hermeneutic. There has been much too much of man’s theology governing Scripture when it is God’s Word alone that reigns over theology.

Who's writing?

Identify the author of the book and passage.

Z

Who is the author writing too?

Who is the audience? Yes, all Scripture is for us but not all of Scripture is directed to us our salvation and doctrine (how to live our daily lives). To say all of Scripture is, is erroneous interpretation.

Z

When was the Book or Passage written?

This is necessary to identify the time and historical context.

Z

What were the circumstances when it was written? (what was going on)

Z

What was going on before and after it was written?

What happen before and after the particular Book or Passage you’re reading?

Z

What is the HISTORICAL CONTEXT OF THE VERSE?

Where does the Bible verse fit in Biblical history. Use the answers from the list of these questions to identify the “historical context”.

Z

Are there other passages that the Author has written to help expand on the verse your reading?

Z

Utilize the full counsel of God to illuminate the passage

All of Scripture fits perfectly.

The Good News

salvation

Salvation is a FREE GIFT from God. You don’t have to do anything but believe by faith that God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead 3 days later.

THE GOOD NEWS

SALVATION

Salvation is a FREE GIFT from God. SALVATION IS BY FAITH ALONE & FAITH IS BELIEVING WHAT GOD SAYS.

  1. God declares all mankind sinners and we all fall short of Glory of God. Romans 3:23
  2. The payment for our sin is death. Romans 6:23
  3. But God…because he loved you so much sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place, for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead three days later. 1 Cor 15:1-42cor 5:21

All God asks is that you believe by faith alone in 1, 2, & 3. That you’re a sinner, separated from God but God sent his Son to die for your sins, was buried & rose again 3 days later.

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9
