The Empires are Back: One Destroyed Three to Go!

The Empires are Back: One Destroyed Three to Go!

The four Gentile empires spoken of by Daniel are back on the scene. One has already been destroyed; Iran is next, then Syria, then the fourth? The revived Roman empire!

So here we are as members of the body of Christ, and we should be able to discern the signs of the times. We’re at the very end of the church age (the dispensation of the grace of God, Ephesians 3:2), and the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is once again out in front of the human race, just like it was prior to the Lord’s first advent. And the whole earthly geopolitical scenario, as far as God is concerned, has now come full circle.

The Book of Daniel provides a detailed account of the four Gentile empires that would rule over Israel—Jerusalem and the world leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ. It was a sign for the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. They were to know that when the fourth Gentile nation came on the scene, their promised Messiah, their King, would be on the scene as well. He would crush Israel’s enemies, establish His glorious kingdom, and rule and reign over all nations from David’s throne in Jerusalem (Luke 1:67–75; 2 Samuel 7:10–16; Zechariah 14:9; Zechariah 8:1–8).

The empires are listed in the order that Daniel sees them in his visions and are as follows:

  1. Babylonian Empire (Daniel 2:38)
  2. Medo-Persian Empire (Daniel 5:28)
  3. Greek Empire (Daniel 8:20-21)
  4. Roman Empire (Daniel 2:40; 9:26)

Israel Should Have Known

They should have known; Israel should have been able to discern the “signs of the times.” They all knew the prophecy, but in their unbelief, they did not accept the Lord’s claim that He was their promised King and, along with the Romans, they killed their own Messiah.

📍 Updated Section: Don’t Be Like the Pharisees and Sadducees

The Jews of Jesus’ day had every reason to know that the time of their Messiah had arrived. The fourth Gentile empire—Rome—was in power, exactly as prophesied by Daniel. Yet tragically, Israel did not recognize the time of their visitation (Luke 19:44).

The Lord Jesus made this indictment crystal clear in Matthew 16:1–4, when the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Him, asking for a sign from heaven. Jesus responded by rebuking them sharply:

“When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.”
—Matthew 16:2–3 (NKJV)

These religious leaders could read the sky, but they were blind to the prophetic clock ticking right in front of them. They had the Book of Daniel. They knew the prophecy of Daniel’s four Gentile empires. The presence of the Roman Empire—the fourth kingdom—should have been their wake-up call. The signs of Jesus’ identity were all around them: the miracles, the fulfilled prophecies, the authority with which He taught. But they rejected the truth in favor of seeking a sign that would fit their expectations.

In their blindness, they missed the King of kings standing before them. And in rejecting Him, the prophetic clock paused—ushering in the mystery revealed later through the Apostle Paul: the dispensation of grace, the age of the Church.

The Empires are Back

It is amazing but not surprising that the same ancient Gentile empires are back on the scene today. In other words, the same four empires that were prophesied and present leading up to the Lord’s first advent are now center stage in current events (as far as God and Bible prophecy are concerned), and once again the signs are screaming that the Lord is coming. It’s happening right before our eyes, and we need to recognize it and believe it. Jesus is coming soon!

Here is a list of the four Gentile empires that are back on the scene today:

  1. The Babylonian Empire is represented by Iraq, which has already been destroyed in the Gulf War.
  2. The Medo-Persian Empire is represented by Iran, which is about to be destroyed any day now. Either by Israel alone or America and Israel together.
  3. The Greek Empire is represented by Syria, which will be destroyed soon after Iran. (Isaiah 17:1).
  4. The Roman Empire is represented by the European Union, which is the revived Roman Empire (Daniel 9:26). It will eventually be led by the anti-christ but it too will be destroyed by the Lord Jesus Himself at His second coming (Daniel 2:44-45).

The Takeaway

Jesus is coming soon, and the rapture of the church is even closer. Iraq, representing ancient Babylon, has already been destroyed. Iran, representing ancient Persia, is about to be destroyed. Syria, representing ancient Greece, will be next. When Jesus comes back, He will destroy the fourth empire, which is the revived Roman Empire (the European Union), and everyone who has rebelled against Jesus Christ. Satan will be locked up in the abyss for a thousand years, and the antichrist and false prophet will be the first to go into the lake of fire. Jesus will rule and reign over all nations from David’s throne in Jerusalem for a thousand years, with Israel as the head nation above all nations, fulfilling the Abrahamic covenant Jesus Himself made to Abraham in Genesis 12.

Glory be to God, For His Word is True.

🔥 Israel Prophetic Update – June 2025

Two Down… Two to Go?

As of June 2025, what was written over 2,500 years ago is playing out in real time before our eyes. The second Gentile empire prophesied by Daniel—Persia, known today as Iran—is being systematically crippled.

Israel, with U.S. support, has not only eliminated top Iranian commanders and its leading nuclear scientist, but now has 100% control over Iranian airspace. Military infrastructure, weapons depots, and nuclear facilities have been destroyed or rendered useless. Iran’s ability to retaliate is effectively gone. Just like ancient Persia fell, modern Iran is being dismantled.

This isn’t just war—it’s divine orchestration.

Let’s be clear: Iran has one goal—to wipe Israel off the map. But no weapon formed against God’s chosen people will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is not only preserving Israel, He is proving His Word true.

The nations may rage, but prophecy rolls on. Just as the Bible said, the signs of the times are accelerating like birth pains—more intense and more frequent (Matthew 24:8). From Iraq to Iran, the Gentile empires that once lorded over Jerusalem are falling one by one. Next on the stage: Syria, and finally the Revived Roman Empire, from which the Antichrist will arise.

And yet, we are not afraid.

We are not looking for the Antichrist.
We are looking for Jesus Christ.
The trumpet will sound. The dead in Christ will rise. And we who are alive and remain will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thess. 4:16–17).

Glory to God—we could be moments away from hearing that trumpet.

The Joy In Justification: “Just as If You Never Sinned”

The Joy In Justification: “Just as If You Never Sinned”

Romans 5:1 tells us that we have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ. This means that God declares us righteous, just as if we never sinned. This is a remarkable truth that should bring us immense joy and peace.

Justification is a judicial act of God in which the righteous and holy God sees our faith in the gospel and declares us justified. It is not based on our feelings, but on the word of God. Our justification is not something that we can understand with our human minds, but it is God’s word that declares it, and we can rest in what God promises and believe Him.

The key to experiencing justification is faith. Faith is simply taking God at His word and believing what He says about salvation. We don’t need to try to figure it out in our human understanding, but simply trust in what God has said. When we believe the gospel by faith alone – that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose from the dead three days later – God steps in and saves us, and does everything on our behalf, including justifying us.

The Takeaway

Let us rest in the truth of our justification by faith in the gospel. God has declared us righteous, just as if we have never sinned. Let us experience the joy and peace that comes from this truth and trust in God’s word above all else. God said it believe it.

Devotional:

Take a moment to reflect on the joy of your justification by faith in Jesus Christ and your faith in the gospel. Thank God for declaring you righteous and just as if you never sinned. Ask Him to help you rest in this truth and to trust in His word above all else. Let the peace and joy of this truth fill your heart today and always.

Iron Sharpens Iron: The Urgent Need for Fellowship

Iron Sharpens Iron: The Urgent Need for Fellowship

It is absolutely crucial that, as members of the body of Christ, we fellowship with each other. Especially now, when Christendom is witnessing unprecedented abject rebellion against the truth of God’s word. The apostle Paul warns us what the world will be like as we get closer to the Lord’s return in 1 Timothy 4:1–3. And we are very close!

‘Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times* some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ‘

I Timothy 4:1-3

*“the latter times” refer to the time period of the Lord’s first coming and His return.

As believers, we are called to stand firm in our faith and remain steadfast in the face of deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that “iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” In other words, just as iron sharpens iron, we can strengthen and encourage one another through sharing God’s word and building each other up in our faith.

Hebrews 10:23-25 says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

These verses emphasize the importance of not only holding fast to our faith but also of coming together (In a local church, Bible Study, or Prayer meetings, anywhere) and exhorting one another as we see the day of the Lord’s return approaching. When we share God’s word and build each other up in our faith, we are able to stand strong in the face of adversity and remain steadfast in our walk with the Lord.

Devotion:

Dear Lord, help us to remember the power of sharing your word and building each other up in our faith. May we not neglect the importance of coming together and exhorting one another, so that we may remain steadfast in our walk with you. Help us to hold fast to our faith and to stay strong in the face of adversity. Amen.

Rejoice! Our Inheritance is Guaranteed and Sealed with the Holy Spirit – Ephesians 1:13-14

Rejoice! Our Inheritance is Guaranteed and Sealed with the Holy Spirit – Ephesians 1:13-14

Ephesians 1:13-14 states, “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”

These verses remind us of the incredible spiritual inheritance that is guaranteed to us as believers in Christ. Paul is explaining that after we heard the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and believed by faith alone in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we were sealed with the Holy Spirit, who is the deposit guaranteeing our ultimate redemption. This means that we can trust that either by rapture or death, we will be with the Lord Jesus forever in glory.

The Holy Spirit Gives Us Power

In the meantime, we have the privilege of living in the power of the Holy Spirit and experiencing the blessings of our spiritual inheritance in this life. We can rest in the knowledge that we have been redeemed and that we are a purchased with a guarantee which is the Holy Spirit indwelling us. Our salvation is not based on our own merit or effort, but on the finished work of Jesus on the cross. We can approach each day with confidence, knowing that we are loved, valued, comforted, and strengthened by God the Holy Spirit that lives in us.

The takeaway for the Day:

Take time to reflect on the incredible inheritance that is yours as a child of God. Read Ephesians 1:13-14 again, and allow the words to sink in. Meditate on the fact that you have been sealed with the Holy Spirit, and that you can trust in the fullness of your ultimate redemption.

Remember that you are a purchased possession of God and that your salvation is not based on your own merit or effort.  Allow this truth to fill you with confidence, peace, and joy.

Praise God for His love, grace, and provision for you. Thank Him for the indescribable blessings that are yours in Christ. Ask Him to help you live each day in the fullness of your spiritual inheritance, and to empower you to share this good news with others.

God Knows You – “O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me” Psalm 139:1

God Knows You – “O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me” Psalm 139:1

Psalm 139:1 reads, “O Lord, you have searched me and known me.” This Bible verse is a powerful reminder of the inward knowledge and love that God has for us. The Psalmist recognizes that God knows every detail of our lives, from the thoughts and emotions that we experience to the number of hairs on our head. This understanding of God’s knowledge and care is deeply comforting and encouraging, especially in times of uncertainty and worry.

Despite the challenges and difficulties that we may face, God’s love and knowledge of us never wavers. He is always present, always watching over us, and always ready to guide and sustain us through any circumstance. This truth is a source of peace and comfort, and it helps us to trust in God’s faithfulness and goodness.

So today, take some time to reflect on the wonder and awesomeness of God’s love and knowledge. Allow yourself to be reminded of His presence in your life, and allow His love to fill you with hope, peace, and joy.

The takeaway:

Dear God, thank you for your never-ending love and care for me. I am in awe of your omniscience and the way that you know every detail of my life. Help me to trust in your love and knowledge today and every day. Give me the courage to face any challenges that come my way, knowing that you are always with me and always have my best interests at heart. Amen.
