It is through Christ who strengthens me

Insurmountable “Giants” we all have them and they can cause great pain and sorrow. These insurmountable giants could be anything from getting over a divorce, the death of a loved one, maybe it’s a sin that you fall back into over and over again.

Maybe it’s our children that want nothing to do with God and are steeped in all that this world has to offer. Or a cheating spouse or the economic giant, fear itself could be a giant.

Even as blood-bought believers we can easily give into any one of these “Giants”, but in Christ, and through Him, we find our strength.

In this day and age on this side of the cross, we must put all our trust, faith and believe in the finished work of the cross (the gospel). When we exercise our faith in what He promised He “Will” provide the strength we need to get through no matter what we face.

It’s resurrection power where we place our faith, it’s the cross. Because it was at the cross where God the Son defeated sin, the law, the curse, death, and Satan himself. Yes, that means those things have NO POWER over the believer because we believed by faith in what Christ did for us. So, we must continue to exercise that saving faith and trust God when dealing with our giants.

‘The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’

I Corinthians 15:56-57

The combination of resting in the finished work of the cross and constant prayer is a sound Biblical recipe that will help you through the toughest situations.

‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’

Philippians 4:13

Glory to God for His Son Our Strength

The One who died for us was buried for us and rose again three days later never to die again, for us. God the Father sent His own Son to make a payment for sin that we could never make so we could live forever with Him.  For those that believe the gospel that’s our blessed hope. To spend eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

‘For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. ‘

I Thessalonians 4:14-16

‘Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.’

I Thessalonians 4:17-18

‘looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, ‘

Titus 2:13

When we put our faith in what God has done for us He will provide the strength we need to take down our “giants”. God never gives us more than we can handle and the way out is always faith.

‘No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.’

I Corinthians 10:13
