‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, ‘
II Corinthians 1:3
“The Christian life is the greatest life. It’s a tough life but we have God’s grace which is sufficient and epitomized in our weakness.”
Remember the apostle Paul writes only to believers. So for those of us who are members of the body of Christ, the apostle Paul reminds us. That as we go through trying and testing times we have that promise that God is going to be a constant encouragement.
There is no rose pedal Christian life! If someone promises you the Christian life is an easy life, just mark it off as false teaching, because there is no Scripture support for that. As a matter of fact, Christians are constantly paddling upstream. The true Christian life is tough; it’s a constant battle against all the forces of Satan, the unsaved around you, and the world system itself.
The flip side is we have promises that as we go through these times of testing and discouragement the Lord God Himself is going to encourage us.
God’s grace is sufficient, He is the God of all comfort no matter what comes our way. We must be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard (comfort) your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6,7).
“The Christian life is the greatest life. It’s a tough life but we have God’s grace which is sufficient and epitomized in our weakness.”
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
