Biblical Salvation is By Believing the Gospel Alone by Faith Alone

This is the Gospel.

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

SALVATION IS BY FAITH ALONE AND FAITH IS BELIEVING WHAT GOD SAYS

In order for anyone to be saved, they must first know why they need salvation.

We all need salvation because of sin. Not only will we die physically because of sin but we are ALL spiritually dead (Genesis 2:17; Ezekiel 18:4) and separated (Isaiah 59:2) from our creator God because of sin and all mankind is eternally doomed to the lake of fire because of sin. (Romans 5:12)

What Does God Say About ALL Mankind?

  • God declares all mankind sinners and we all fall short of Glory of God. Romans 3:23
  • ‘As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. Romans 3:10-11
  • The payment for our sin is death. Romans 6:23

But God…

Sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to shed His blood, die on the cross in our place, to pay for our sin(s), was buried and was resurrected from the dead bodily, never to die again.

So what must you believe to be saved?

  1. Believe that you’re a sinner.
  2. Believe by faith that God sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in your place to make the payment for your sins, was buried and rose again three days later never to die again. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21.

That’s it. You have to believe by faith what God said.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

‘For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10

The moment you believe the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 1:16) you are saved, instantly sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13), you immediately become a member of the Body of Christ (1 Cor 12:13) which is His Church, and are indwelled with the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5, 8:9) and blessed with all spiritual blessing in the heavenly’s. (Ephesians 1:3)

From the moment you believe the gospel we are looking forward to that “Blessed Hope” the glorious appearing of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the clouds. (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Titus 2:13)
